My husband and I will be flying into the Kerry Airport at a late hour (11pm) and it appears the car rental counters are closed at that time. Are there any hotels near the Kerry Airport we can easily reach (taxi?) to where we could return early the next morning to pick up our rental car and be on our way? Thank you in advance for your suggestions!

Tammy: The Kerry (aka Farranfore) Airport is a relatively small airport in a very rural location, about 20 minutes from Tralee and 20 minutes in the other direction to Killarney--and unfortunately those two places may be your best bet for accommodations. What I don't know is whether a taxi can be counted on, at that time of night, to get you to Tralee or Killarney; or whether any hotels there will be staffed to receive you at midnight. You might e-mail the airport at http://www.kerryairpot.ie and see if they can be of any assistance or there is a link for transport and access that has a list of the taxi companies to see if you could make arrangements for one to meet you.
In the past I have contacted the airports in both Sligo and Donegal with questions and found them to be very helpful.
