Accomodations in Kinsale, Ireland

Does anyone have a suggestion for a good place to stay in Kinsale? The Olde Bakery is booked. I was considering the White House but it doesn't have parking. Is it difficult to park on the street in Kinsale?

Jayne, you might have a look at * www.friars-lodge.com/ * (cut & paste the link inside the asterisks). It's in a great location and VERY comfortable. Happy travels!

We stayed at the Old Presbytere and liked it. Location is good and it has parking within a walled area.

I agree about Friar's Lodge. We stayed there last month for 4 nights; reasonable prices, delicous breakfast with eggs cooked any way you like, fresh croissants and homemade jam, lovely 2 minute walk through windy streets to the heart of town and the harbor area, friendly staff who knock on your door in the evening, asking "Would you like some chocolates?"

We are still in Ireland and a few nights ago we stayed in Kinsale for 2 nights at Pier House B&B. We didn't see it in Rick's book, just found it a few minutes after we drove into town. It turned out to be a B&B with lots of awards - we absolutely loved it! We paid 80 euros for a double. Very clean, nicely decorated rooms, wooden sleigh beds, thick duvets, good pillows, fluffy towels, and "power showers." The breakfast room overlooked a lovely garden. With dark wooden floors and white walls and beach decorations, it reminded me of a Nantucket beach house. Breakfast was excellent - better than most we've had during our 2-week trip. French press coffee, warm croissants, and a choice of various delicious items you can order from a small menu. (Fresh fruit crepes with honey highly recommended). There is a common area stocking wine & champagne glasses, ice buckets & lots of ice, which I thought was a nice touch. We bought a nice bottle of white wine and enjoyed it at sunset time on our balcony overlooking a peaceful garden and the harbour. There is also a common sitting room with very good Wi-Fi access. The B&B has 2 entrances - one in front of the harbour (garden entrance) and the other one facing a lovely windy street. Parking is free within a few steps away. BTW - the parking lot is next to an excellent restaurant, Fishy Fishy Cafe, which I highly recommend. We easily walked everywhere.
