Accommodations for London

Hello,
I am travelling with my husband to London in the Spring this year as a stop over after visiting Paris. We are in London for the first time for 4 nights. We are looking at staying at either the Aster House, Lime Tree Hotel or Luna & Simone Hotel. We want to be close both walking distance and by tube to main attractions, parks and sights, shopping(Harrods and various stores), and cafes in a safe and neighborhoods where locals also live. We are looking for a mid-to-upscale accommodation with own bathroom with friendly and helpful staff. Any preferences to the 3 place mentioned or recommendation would be appreciated. Thanks.

We stayed at the Luna Simone last summer and loved it. It is an easy walk (less than 10 minutes) from Victoria Station, which is a very safe neighborhood and convenient to many attractions. Our room was super clean; the hotel staff couldn't have been nicer. However, I would not call it "upscale." It is a fantastic value for the price in London, and I would return in a heartbeat....but if you are expecting upscale, you may be disappointed. Check the photos on TripAdvisor.

I stayed at Luna and Simone last May and found their location to be great and their staff helpful. It is right on a major bus line which is convenient. It is not upscale, but my friends stayed at the Lime Tree and it was 'fancier'.

My husband and I stayed at the Luna-Simone for 4 nights in August, 2011 We loved the place, the owners and the neighborhood. Twin brothers have run this place for 40 years, and were very helpful. Our room was on the first floor, very small, but it contained everything we needed, 2twin beds, tea making stuff, tv if you wanted it ( we were there during the riots so we did tune into the news). My husband can walk, but we bring a w/c to get around as he cannot walk too far, and they kept the w/c behind the desk for us. Small bathroom, but everything very clean. Great mix of locals and tourists in the area and wonderful choice of restaurants within one block. I like to walk and we put many miles on the w/c. Also handy bus right outside the door. Breakfast room in the basement offering traditional English breakfast, but also have yogurt, cereal, etc. Loved staying there, would again in a heartbeat. The area in known as Pimlico.
