We have a week or so in a timeshare located near Bath this coming May. While I've visited the area prior, I am interested in visitng some of the out of the way, smaller or more relaxed areas where I can find a good meal and quality ale or cider. I do not plan to hire a car and will rely on rail and bus service. Thanks
I went to St Michael Abbey, St. Ives and Lands End on the train from Bath. Kind of Touristy but fun. It's where the Pirates hung out. Check out the National Trust site for several places you can visit nearby Bath. You can either buy one of their passes or one like British Heritage which can save you on addmissions. Some of these places have wonderful Tea Rooms.
You could take the train down to Penzance. We enjoyed our stay there and would return again. Nice seaside promenade and everything will be within walking distance. You could bus around the area - check out St Ives, Lands End, St Michael's Mount, Mousehole, Minack Theatre on the cliffside, Sennen Cove and so much, much more. The weather there was beautiful for us in May 2011. Great people, pasties and palm trees!
