Has anyone stayed in Hay-on-Wye the Book Festival place? I am looking for a recommendation for a budget B & B or place to stay there - I will be going there in October. Also same for Bristol.

Al - how much is The Bear? and do you know about Bristol? Also Are the prices the same off-season and when the Book Festival is not on?

That's an easy question to answer, but not for a budget price. The Bear is the place to stay in Hay. There is nothing at the budget end of the market in Hay.
