Does anyone know if Scandinavian countries require anything special on passports? Mine is due to expire 5 1/2 months after our planned trip to Scandinavia. China required that it not expire less than 6 months of your departure date. Is this a requirement in Scandinavia? Jin
The general rule in Europe is 3 months since that is the length of the Schengen visa. A few countries reportedly enforce it but others don't seem to make a fuss if it's under 3 months. So you are fine.
I have heard of some folk turned away if it expired within 6 months. It would be safer to get a renewed.
Most all EU countries have 3 month rule. I don't know of any that have a 6 month rule. In fact a few don't have any expiration rule, your passport simply needs to be valid for the duration of your stay: UK, Germany, Belgium, and Luxemburg.
Thanks, everyone. I found the Schengen page. It looks like it's 3 months.
