Hi Everyone,
I thought I had our itinerary all figured out and then did a little more research on driving times and I'm back to the drawing board. We have 8 nights/days after leaving from York and here is what we would like to see in that time frame:
1. Lake District
2. Trossachs region
3. Glencoe
4. Fort William/Glenfinnan, road to the isles
5. Isle of Skye
6. Inverness area, including Loch Ness and Culloden Battle Field
Our original plan was 2 nights in each: Lake District, Oban, Isle of Skye and Inverness. Then, I looked up how far the drive is from Lake District to Oban and Oban to the Trossachs. So, we are thinking a few different options are possible, one would include 2 one-night-stands in either the Lake District and Trossachs region or Trossachs and Glencoe area. The other option is to cut something out, probably Lake District. We usually try to avoid the one-nighters, but all areas are equally appealing and what we want to see should not take more than a day. Any suggestions/new ideas are greatly appreciated!! We will have a car and possibly a GPS.
