Has anyone had any experience with Iceland Air or Baltic Air - we are planning a trip to Scandanavia and are unfamiliar with these airlines.
I flew with both in the past year and both were fine. Flights were comfortable and on time. With Baltic Air, make sure you read all of the fine print regarding the luggage fees. There are fees per checked bag plus for weight over a certain amount. Buying two checked bags does not get you twice as much weight, for example, but say 15 kg over both bags. Just be clear on this.
A couple of years ago, Iceland Air had a great deal for a round trip to Europe that included a stay in Keflavik. It was an effort to get more people interested in tourism to Iceland. I heard only good things from people who took advantage of the offer. We flew SAS to Scandinavia in '10. The service was as good as anyone but the cabin seemed cramped, especially for an international flight. They also have one of the strictest carry-on restrictions, which was fine for us - just more care taken to be within the limits.
