I'm looking for info on Svenborg, Denmark. I heard it is charming, but can't find anything to substantiate that finding. Tack!
Patsy
Could it be because the spelling is Svendborg? I would think google would have the smarts to know what you were searching for.... but maybe not. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Svendborg It was Denmark's "Town of the Year" in 2000! That is saying something. There's also a toy museum, apparently. http://www.denmark.net/denmark-guide/places/svendborg.html Looks adorable, from what I am seeing on-line. But I haven't been - just can never resist a challenge in finding something in the InterWebs! :D
Svendborg is the second largest city on the island of Funen (Fyn) in Denmark and is an important gateway to a number of small islands just outside the Svendborg Bay. Ex. Aero which Rick Steves mentions in his Scandinavia guidebook has a ferry connection to Svendborg. Other than it's a nice location, I cannot remember anything special which Svendborg has to offer (no offense to its citizens!). Is easily accesible via hourly train from Odense (and Copenhagen). happy travel!
Mange tack! Yes, I meant Svendborg, not Svenborg.
I still haven't found much on the area/town, but a friend said it is her very favorite town in Denmark....charming, quant. Planned to stay in Svendborg 2 nights, AEro 2 nights, Copenhagen 4 nights, but need to find more info.....anyone out there that can help? Patsy
