I'm having trouble finding a reasonable price on a car rental for just five days and was quoted over $1400 by a travel agency (including a drop fee about equal to the car rental fee.) Is this a normal cost or am I being swindled? Any good places to find a rental car on my own? Thanks!

We have a car booked for next week for just over a week from Copenhagen and then by ferry to S. Norway and back for less that half that amount. I booked with autoeurope.com and spoke with them by phone here in the States. The booking process was simple but we don't have the car yet!

Sixt is another good place to check. They try to occupy the Ryanair business model when it comes to car rentals in Europe.
