Hi, Amy and I will be traveling in Ireland for 3 weeks this April and we are wondering what is the best way to have a cell phone to use while we are traveling. Our Verizon phone will not work over there and so I guess we are looking at buying a phone or renting one. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Verizon has a program where they will send their customers a cell phone to use abroad that has your own cell phone number. I used it last summer on a two week trip to Ireland and it worked perfectly. The rental charge is minimal, and you can go on their international plan for the time you are away and make pretty inexpensive calls. (the plan cost me only two or three dollars) There is a limit to how long you can have the phone and you have to mail it back when you return. Just call Verizon - they were very helpful and explained everything to me clearly.
