Guys: We're signed up for the last 21-day Europe Tour in 2011. We plan on getting into Amsterdam a couple days early. My wife usually makes our room reservations over the Internet. She told me that the Rick Steves book recommends two places - the first one is booked up, and the web site doesn't work well on the second one. Does anybody out there have recommendations for reasonable places to stay in Amsterdam? Thank you! Seeya

We got a great deal using priceline in Amsterdam. We got the Movinpick for 80 dollars a night. Great hotel. Year before, we got the NH Hotel beside the flower market for 65 dollars per night.
I really enjoyed staying at the Hotel Brouwer. http://www.hotelbrouwer.nl/. My room looked right out on the canal. The staff was friendly and helpful. Pam
Thank you very much for getting back! The web site looks pretty good! I passed it on to my wife. This forum is pretty cool. I showed her how to log on and use it. I can take my hands off the controls and sit back now... Seeya
