Hi RS Friends! My boyfriend and I will be flying into Gothenburg in early June to pick-up a new car from Volvo. We have about 5-6 days with the car to go wherever we want. We have never thought much about traveling to thi spart of the world - and would love any suggestions you have on where we should spend our time. At this end of this trip, we do need to return to Gotenburg to drop off the car. Any ideas? Thanks! Mary

The only place I have been to in Sweden is Stockholm. It's a strikingly beautiful city. Do not miss it!

Stockholm is a gorgeous city - you could not go wrong going there; however, the southern coast of Sweden is beautiful too - some very wonderful places to see. You could do a loop from Gothenburg to the south and then back up again. I've been to Sweden twice and would be happy to give you specifics if you want more information.

Mary, our son lives in Stockholm and we have been there numerous times. It is a gorgeous city in the summer. You should plan on 3 days! Old Town is charming and the restaurants are great - I recommend Krypin(sp?) Have a drink at the Gondolen Bar which has a fabulous view of the city.. There is a beautiful Garden Park along the water for jogging, etc, etc............The Miles Sculpture Garden is wonderful - The night life in Stockholm is something you will enjoy since you sound like a young couple. You will also love the midnight sun - have lunch at Saluhallen - a very interesting market..........The night life at the Berns Hotel, etc, etc Merle

Sweden is a beautiful country. Aside from Stockholm (the outdoor museum is a must!) if you can, take a road trip up north and check out Orebro and Umea. Beautiful small towns. Uppsala is also nice, too. Driving in Sweden is amazing...few cars, amazing scenery, and you'll have a blast in your Volvo!
