I'm planning to rent a furnished apartment in London for approx. 6 months. Any advice on neighborhoods to avoid, or neighborhoods that are most likely to be reasonably priced would be greatly appreciated!

Check out any of the Kensington neighborhoods - I stayed in West Kensington for six months a few blocks from the Tube station and it was a decent area. South Ken will be reasonably more expensive. How far out from central London are you willing to live? Obviously the further out you go the cheaper it will be for the most part.
