Do Visa and Master Cards seem to accepted in Europe equally?

Check with credit card company about fees for purchases and/or cash withdraws.

Roger, from what I've seen, VISA and MasterCard are about equally accepted. However, it helps to have both cards as some Hotels will accept one but not the other. Many automated rail ticket machines in some countries (France, for example) and gas pumps will only accept the newer "chip & PIN" credit cards. Happy travels!

Yes, both seem to be acceptable virtually anywhere. I think at one point Visa was more accepted but those days seem to be long gone. American Express, Discover, Diner's Club (do they still have those?) aren't nearly as acceptable and I wouldn't suggest bringing one.
