Does anyone have suggestions on the Gap and how to best experience it? It can be as simple as a tour or a long hike (preferred). We have 4-5 hours available.
Thanks for any suggestions.

We usually do all of our traveling on our own---no packaged day-trips. However, for the Gap of Dunloe we bought a package in Killarney. We were driven to the beginning of the gap where we boarded a little jogging cart (horse/ driver) which took us up through the gap. We walked at least half of the way--the pull is too hard for the horse when the cart is loaded. At the end of the gap we boarded large open boats (looked like giant rowboats with a very small motor) which took us through several lakes, visited a castle, and then were driven back to town. It's a different experience than just hiking and we both enjoyed it, although the carts are pretty hard on the tail-bone--no springs.
