Who has the best rates on international phone cards ? We read that we should buy them upon arrival in Ireland, thanks, Mike

International phone cards are sold all over Ireland at convenience stores, and most stores sell phone cards from more than one service provider. The store clerk should be able to help you find a phone card with cheap rates that meets your needs. Buy a card in a fairly low denomination (i.e., 10 Euro) just in case it does not work or you lose it.
If you are bringing a laptop to Ireland, you may want to download Skype before you leave.

Just got back from Ireland. Found out that the minutes you get on a phone card are MUCH longer when using a landline than if you use a mobile. We called from B&Bs and Hotels and got 100 minutes to the USA for 5 Euro
