I will be in Munich for just one night with the only a couple of hours the next morning to sightsee before going back to the airport. What medium priced centrally located hotel would you suggest? What is the best way to get back and forth from the airport?

We have stayed at the Hotel Monaco - about 2 blocks from the main train station (the train goes straight to the airport - really easy). It's not a fancy place - 5 floors up (small elevator), but it's kind of cute once you get up there and the location is great. Breakfast is extra now, which I think is kind of odd for Germany, but it's a nice breakfast (pricey).
Also, be aware that you will get more answers if you post this on the Germany area, not Northern Europe (which is Ireland, UK and Scandinavia).
