4-day side trip from London - your suggestions needed!

I'm traveling to Europe in early March. I'll be spending the first 4 days in London and have another 4 days (+1 day to get back to London) to spend somewhere else. Does anyone have a favorite side trip from London (other than Paris) where I could plant myself for 4 days? I'd really like to get back to France or perhaps somewhere else in the UK. Also, given that I'm traveling in early March, the weather is a consideration. I'd love to hear your suggestions! Thanks!

There are as many places as people I'm sure, but I love Wales, especially northern Wales. The weather will be a crap shoot any time you go. I was in England in July. Did you see the weather when I was there?! I always go and (barring flooding) enjoy myself in all types of weather.

Unless you like cold weather, fly south to Spain or Italy or Provence/Riviera. My first choice would be Italy. Check the budget airlines out of London and see what makes the most sense.

You might consider a quick trip to Ireland. You could base yourself in Dublin and see the city, or do day trips to Newgrange or Glendalough. I've been there in both February and April, and the weather was nothing to worry about. If it doesn't cooperate, there are plenty of inside things to see and do.

You should consider the Cotswolds. There is lots of beautiful villages you could visit.

I really enjoyed Bath as a relaxing getaway from London. We also took small side trips from Bath and went to Stonehenge, Salisbury (to see the Cathedral), and Bradford-On-Avon for the best tea I've ever had. If you don't mind traveling a bit further, you might also consider Edinburgh, although I am not sure of the weather in March.
