3 day Round trip Trondheim

I just booked a 3 day rental in Trondheim and expect to do the loop: Trondheim->Andalsnes->Geiranger->Hellesylt->Molde->Kristiansund->Trondheim. I was looking for suggestions, but also had a couple of specific questions: 1) The coastal route (E39) ferries do they run often enough (i.e., every 2 hours or so) that I don't have to be concerned about timetables? 2) Google maps takes me from Trondheim via E6; there seems to be a more winding (and direct as the crow flies) route via E65 any recommendations? Thanks for any answers or further comments. Gerald

Do you really mean E65? Euro route E65 does not go through Norway at all; it starts at the base of Sweden and heads south. Maybe the suggestion is Norway National Road 63? That would be the Trollstigen (Troll Road) which is very scenic and a major touris6t attraction: http://www.bestnorwegian.com/trollstigen.html I've been over that road (heading downhill) and it really was spectacular. Well sorth it if you are in the area.

Sorry-- forgive my carelessness-- the road is Rv65, not E65, and passes through Sunndalsøra. -- Gerald

That should be an easy drive. I have spent time in Sunndalsøra; it is a nice small town on a fjord. I would have to look at a good map of Norway (which I don't have any more) to see the exact routes and compare them. It was actually between Sunndalsøra and Trondheim that we drove the Trollstigen. It was worth the detour.
