Hi, We are heading to London for 8 days over the Easter holiday. We are flying in and out of Stansted.Planning on at least 3 days in London but would like to mix the trip up. Maybe stay in Bath for a night, another town, open to suggestions. We already live in Europe so jet lag isn't a problem. We have 2 boys aged 12 &14 & want them to enjoy the trip. We will not have a car. Thanks for any input!
Hi Ardith, Our son was 11 on his first trip to London and 14 on his second trip. His favorite site in London continues to be the Tower of London. He also liked the British Museum and Churchill War Rooms. Walking across the Westminster Bridge to Big Ben and then up to Trafalgar Square to see/climb the lions is fun. He thought it was great to take a ride on the London Eye and look out over the city. Our family loves soccer, so if you are interested in that, see if you can go to a stadium and watch a match if it is warm enough. Otherwise pubs can be great fun to watch a match with the locals. Greenwich is just outside the city and I think they would enjoy the National Maritime Museum and the Cutty Sark. Easy to get to on the tube/DLR. I can't speak to what the boys might like to do outside the city, but I remember before our trip, I bought Rick Steves' London book and he has a section about places and activities for kids. Have a great trip!
Susan
