We are flying into Dublin at 10 pm on a Friday from Budapest. Instead of leaving on the am flight on Sat., we decided to spend 24 hrs in Dublin and leave on Sun at 10 am. Where should we stay, 2 adults, 2 kids (9 & 13)??
The Townhouse of Dublin (www.townhouseofdublin.com)and the Globetrotters Tourist Hostel (www.globtrottersdublin.com) share a common front desk and a common dining room which serves an absolutely fabulous full Irish breakfast. Great location, clean, secure. Excellent!
Try the Harding Hotel, newly remodeled, very reasonable for Dublin. It is just across the street from Christ Church Cathedral. It's recommended in Ricks book.
Ditto on the Harding Hotel - it's comfortable, recently renovated, and the staff is helpful and friendly. Ask whether they still offer a slight discount for people w/Rick's books. PLUS it's so close to everything you'd want to see in 24 hours in Dublin. Don't miss Trinity College, the Book of Kells and the National Gallery!
