We (2 couples in early 60's) are planning to fly in and out of Dublin (have tickets) and rent a car. Our itinerary is as follow: Kilkenny - 2 nights - Newlands Lodge Kinsale - 2 nights - Cloisters Kenmare - 1 night - Hawthorn House Dingle - 2 nights Galway - 2 nights - Petra House Trim - 1 night - Crannmor
Dublin 3 nights (will drop off car coming into Dublin) - Buswells We want to include Glendalough, Cashel, Muckross House, Ring of Kerry, Dingle Peninsula loop, Cliffs of Moher, and Knock. Is this doable? Also, any suggestions on making it work. We have reservations for all nights except in Dingle. Thank you in advance for suggestions.
Looks doable to me. You've done wisely with mostly two night stays. Lots of day trips possible from the locations you have chosen.
In Dingle we stayed at Coill An Rois this past May and will be staying there again this coming May. It is located at the foot of Brandon Mountain in a rural setting so it is not within walking distance of Dingle Town. I think it looks good, too. You can certainly fit the things on your list into your plans with no problem.
Hi Pam, your trip sounds great. My husband & I did a similar drive 2 years ago. The Heritage Card would probably be a good idea, since the places you list are covered by it, as well as some sights in Dublin. You will pass by Clonmacnoise, driving from Galway to Trim. It's a former abbey sight, similar to Glendalough but less crowded. We stayed at the Tower View B&B in Dingle, really nice, friendly place. have a fun time. Emilie
