We will be in England the last two weeks in August. Myself, wife, my sister, and my 16 years old son and 18 year old daughter. We will be dropping my daughter off in York at the end of trip for a one semester study abroad program. Any ideas.
Any ideas of what, Thomas?
What do you know? What don't you know?
How many previous trips to England for each person? Are you ruling out Scotland? What sorts of things do the various folk want to see?
As you can now tell, your question is a tad broad to be answered in 2000 characters (now generously doubled but still way way shorter than a guidebook or 3).
Can you give us an idea of your budget and how you want to get around? Do you want to move around, or base yourself in one or two locations and do day trips from there?
Thomas... I would suggest splitting the time between London and some cities and villages in the countryside. Would probably start with 4 days in London and see the 'sights', then get a car and head to the Cotswolds. A few Harry Potter places to visit (Gloucester Cathedral) Go to a play in Stratford and visit Warwick Castle (a bit touristy...but I was there with a few teens and they loved it) Possibly a drive to a beach town in Wales, and somehow work your way over to end up in York. Kids would probably like Bath, Windsor Castle, and any number of small towns in the Cotswolds.
