Hello - I'm visiting Cambridge this week and have my evenings wide open to take in the city. I would like to make the the most of my time and walk around taking in the city. Please advise me where to walk / what to see and do / and where to eat my dinners! I am interested in arts/theatre/museums/walking and eating :-)! Thanks! P

A visit to Kings College Chapel is a must do. Visiting hours Mon-Fri are 9:30 - 3:30 & admission is £5 (less if you're a student). Better yet, attend an Evensong service at 5:30 (Mon-Wed & Fri; doors open at 5:15). There is no charge to attend the service.

"Google" museums in Cambridgeshire. I came up with a bunch. The Fitzwilliam is the most famous. Their website looked intriguing.

Cambridge is a lovely city with many interesting areas. You might consider taking a Hop-on Hop-off bus tour just to get an overview. Then you will be able to see what interests you and can return to those areas for a closer look in your walks.

The Fitzwilliam was a wonderful museum - we thoroughly enjoyed it.

If you have the time and the daylight; you must walk "the backs", the college lawns along the river- if you are lucky you will see people playing around (and possibly falling in) on punts. The backs get you to some of the scenic college buildings

Hello! Thanks for all your replies ... unfortunately I work until 6pm or so and all your suggestions seem to be mainly during the day. I would luv to check out the city during the day but I don't think I'll get a chance. Any suggestions of what I can do/see post 6pm in the city??? Thanks!

Check some of the colleges and museums for plays and music in the evening.

If the weather is decent, go punting on the canals around the university.
