Do rental cars in UK and Ireland have GPS systems and do they work? I have used them in the US and found them very usefull in finding B & B and historial place.

Yes - and yes. Depending on the car it will not be 'integral' to the car but a separate unit, which can be quite useful as you can use it outside the car. You should book the GPS at the time of booking the car.

I've rented 3 times over there and didn't have a GPS. I imagine you can get one from one of the major companies. It would be really useful in Ireland, because it is easy to get lost.
