Is there anything worth seeing specifically in Malmo--we are taking the train to stockholm and are wondering if we should get out and explore there?
Greetings
It depends on how much time you have, and whether your ticket will allow you to continue on a later train. For some fares, you must travel on the train for which the ticket was issued.
I was in Malmo last weekend and it's a pretty and not too touristy city. There's the kyrka, the old city centre with historic brick/timber frame buildings, the old castle/history museum and lots of parks.
If you have the time, it's probably worth a walk around because it has a different feel from Stockholm - more open areas/parks rather than the island/harbour feel of Stockholm. Malmo, and surrounding areas were part of Denmark at one point and were much more directly involved in the various battles over territory than the much more northerly Stockholm. So, it's a good place to learn about Swedish history and what makes certain regions distinct from others.

I've been to Malmo a couple of times and found it to be a nice city, but nothing particularly special or memorable (other than the Turning Torso building, which is best viewed from great distance anyway).
Better to catch a quick (20-minute) train ride over to Denmark and see a little of Copenhagen.
