I can't get them. My post office told me that as of jan. 2013 the US Postal Service only redeems irc's not sell them. Any help if there is any would be helpful. Thanks.
Call the United Nations post office in Manhattan. They're not part of the USPS. They might still be selling them: http://unstamps.un.org/unpa/en/contact-us.html If you strike out with the UN your only other recourse is Ebay, the do sell valid IRCs.
Thanks Michael.I'll give it a shot.
If you need them to order tix for the Ceremony of the Keys at the Tower of London, the Powers That Be there understand that IRCs are not available in the US - and I think the UK either has or is going to discontinue them too. Go to this discussion on Trip Advisor for an update - http://bit.ly/WZJUIj. I suggest emailing the HRP office for advice on how to handle this in the absence of IRCs. I've heard that they have simply mailed the tickets to people without requiring an IRC to be sent, but you should find out for sure. You may be able to arrange to pick up your tickets when you arrive in London. Ceremony web page: http://bit.ly/105skiv If you aren't asking about IRC's for this reason, sorry for the irrelevant answer.
Suz, You are correct that I want it for the keys ceremony. I'll check on your info. Thank you for your brain power. Iris
Dear Iris, I emailed visitor's services at the Tower about not being able to get IRCs, and they told me to just send a self-addressed envelope (and to include the other information they request -- see the instructions on their website). They said they would take care of the postage to the U.S. I sent my letter about a week ago; hoping to hear back soon. Cathy
Thank you very much Cathy. Best of luck to both of us. Have a great trip.
