Youth Hostels in Istanbul, Turkey

I am planning to visit Istanbul, Turkey in May. I need help in getting accomodation in a good, clean and reliable youth hostel, especially near the main tourist attractions. Thanks for your help.

I haven't stayed there but, looking at the photos, it looks real nice. The location is great (it's in the New City section though, so you'll just have to take a short, inexpensive tram to the Old City to see the main attractions). The New City is more hip and vibrant so it's a good place for a hostel and there are lots of things to do in the area. http://www.worldhouseistanbul.com/index.php

It isn't a youth hostel specifically, but I stayed in Bada Bing Hostel (http://www.hostelworld.com/hosteldetails.php/Bada-Bing-Hostel-Istanbul/Istanbul/51712) in November 2011. 10€/night for a bed in a six-person room. Felt secure, safe. I don't know if you'll be traveling alone or not - I was glad to have a friend with me, but overall really enjoyed the area. Like the hostel mentioned above, it is on the new side of town which means you'll take the trolley or walk over to the old side to see the Grand Bazaar, Sultanahmet, etc, but I really loved staying near Galata and Taksim. Hostels, food and drink are cheaper than on the old city side. Still plenty of culture and cool things to see and not a bad walk to the old city either. We rarely took the trolley, we typically just walked across the bridge to the old city, the main attractions. I don't know how much you like walking but I think it's a great way to see a city and I loved being a little farther out from the touristy parts. The hostels are cheaper there too.
