I'm planning to travel around eastern europe this winter (Prague, Krakow, Budapest) and am curious about the availability of accommodations that time of year. Is it pretty safe to just show up without a reservation and find a variety of available accommodations? Also, any opinions on travelling in the winter would be helpful. I live on the Olympic Peninsula, so I'm not discouraged by dreary weather but will I be missing out on some important sights?
