What time do the locals eat dinner in Prague

Can anyone tell me what time the Czechs typically eat dinner? Also, is dinner a long drawn-out affair, or can you have dinner in about 90 minutes without feeling rushed? Thanks

You will find that Prague restaurants are mostly open until 10 in town center, some are open later. I don't think you have to worry about when the Czech eat dinner, as most folks eat at home with the exception of Friday or Saturday nights. The over 35 crowd tends to stick to early dinner 4 or 5- a hold over from the communist days. The younger crowd sometimes will eat out later. Typical behavior for any age group is to eat at home and then go to the hospoda(pub) for beer (pivo) with friends. Service can be slow at eateries. You will need to ask for the bill (ú?et) when you are ready to pay. 90 minutes? Most europeans think that's rushing it if they are eating out. Typically Czechs are pretty no nonsense about meals at home & are done in 45 mins, but when they go out they treat it like an event. They relax, talk, eat, & drink. Then they go to a hospoda - if they aren't already eating at one - and drink somemore. It always amazes me how they can pound down 2-3 liters of pivo with maybe some slivovice & get up early the next day to work with no problem. I always tell my American friends that they need to stop and relax - they are on vacation & enjoy.
