Rick's Prague/Czech Republic book says that the express bus only runs twice a day on weekends between Brno and Cesky Budejovice. Since we are hoping to start in Olomouc and end in Telc that day, and the first express bus might leave at 7am as far as we know, this could be a little risky. Does anyone know of a way to check the bus schedules in advance (for example online)? Also -- would it be possible to buy the tickets for both the Olomouc to Brno leg, and the Brno-Telc leg, in advance at Olomouc?

I exclusively use the following website for bus and rail schedules in the Czech Republic (English option found on right hand side, about halfway down the page): www.idos.cz You'll have the option of looking at train and/or bus schedules. I'm afraid I'm no help at all regarding advance booking. Hope you enjoy your time in Brno - my husband and I loved it.

It is important to specify if you go on Saturday or Sunday because schedule can be different. Usually you buy a ticket at the bus driver so you will be buying one ticket in Olomouc and one in Brno. If you look at idos.cz you will see that you got more possible ways to get to Telc also combining trains and buses.
