I have always wanted to have my wedding in Greece. There are a couple of problems, 1) I have never been there 2) do not know where to start for picking a location. If there is anyone who can give some advice that would be great! thanks!
Start by contacting the Greek embassy in Washington or the nearest Greek Consulate about their rules regarding the marriage of foreigners in Greece. Many countries have strict rules that involve a blizzard of forms that have to be filled out first.
Stephanie - I am prejudiced since I spend several months a year on Santorini;however; I can think of no more spectacular site to get married.

Please check out this website and I think you'll understand why I suggest Santorini!!
The website will also answer virtually all your questions concerning legal requirements, etc.
I'll be there the month of May and hope to see you walking on the Caldera's rim, as a Married woman!!!

The paperwork does not take several weeks, although it does take a few days. With the help of a reliable and expert wedding planner it can all be handled for you. If you go to tripadvisor.com you'll find a lot of postings in the Greece forums for the wedding planners working on the various Greek islands. A professional wedding planner will be happy to answer all your questions in a timely fashion. I too recommend Santorini as the most perfect romantic and wedding/honeymoon one of them.
I would have to agree that Santorini would be a spectacularly beautiful place for a wedding. Check out www.artmaisons.gr for beautiful places for the honeymoon and/or the wedding itself. Also read the comments on Trip Advisor. We stayed at the Aspaki Hotel in Oia this spring, and it was phenomenal.
I wholeheartedly agree with Janis about Aspaki and the Oia Castle Hotel, both owned and operated by ArtMaisons. www.artmaisons.gr
