I am interested in seeing the walls of Constantinople when I am in Istanbul in a few weeks. Has anyone visited? What is the best section to see?
Thank you.

In his book, Rick recommends starting at Chora Church and Edirnekapi Gate.
What do I look for as a stop on the metro or bus line to get to Chora Church? Do many employees, with public transportation, speak English?

Answer: Chora Church is in what I would consider to be a residential neighborhood. How you get there depends on where you’ll be coming from. Probably in most cases, the easiest way to get there is by taxi. Check out Rick’s Istanbul book for more details.
Do transportation workers speak English? Perhaps, but don’t count on it. But the kids are studying English in school, and if you get stuck, you’ll probably be able to find school children to help you out.
We went to the Chora Church a few years ago (excellent, by the way). We took public transportation as far as we could then flagged a taxi. Just have the Turkish name of the Chora Church written down, ready to tell/show the cabbie.
Again, this church is fabulous if you love frescoes & mosaics.
