Hi, I'm planning a trip to greece in November and thought of going to Santorini. Is this advisable? i google for hotels during november and discover that many of them are closed. is there any good hotels i can check myself into during this time? Thanks!
The Blue Star Ferry Company has a ferry to Santorini every day all year long, departing Piraeus at 07:30, arriving Santorini around 15:00.

Most of the tourist infrastructure in the Greek Islands shuts down for the winter months beginning in October. Of course the islands still have local populations who need goods and services, but in general it will be very quiet. Weather will be cold and windy and perhaps there will be some clouds and even some rain.
Here is a link to a website with a list of hotels that stay open during the winter: http://www.santorini.com/hotels/allyear.htm
Another point to consider is that the frequency of Ferries to Santorini may be less at that time of year. You could also fly from Athens to Santorini (Aegean Airlines), which would help to avoid uncertainty with the Ferries.
As Lee pointed out, that's not the best time of year to visit the Greek Islands, as they're very "quiet".
Cheers!
