Hello again, Does anyone have experience with car rentals in Italy? We would like to rent in Venice, drive down the Croatian coast, then ferry back to Bari, Italy and return the car there. Sound like a workable plan ? Ron

You should check with a rental company to see if they would allow you to leave the country with a rental car. I don't believe that many rental car companies in Italy allow this.

Taking a car on a ferry can be very expensive. I would recommend picking up the rental car once you hit Croatia and then return it in Dubrovnik. I used gemut.com and Andy was very helpful. Great deal too.
