Using/Storing Cameras at Budapest's Szechenyi Baths

Being an avid photographer I would like to be able to make photos while we visit the baths. Aside from concerns about keeping camera dry and safe, is this permitted? Do others take their cameras? As it would be a different experience for us I would like to be able to photograph the site and our visit. Any advance info would be helpful for planning. Thanks.

When we were there a few years ago cameras weren't forbidden and we were able to take pictures of the beautiful exterior and the main interior swimming area. There are some separate massage rooms and hi-temp thermal pools away from the main public pools and I don't know if cameras are allowed in those areas - we didn't try. There is no nudity in the main public pools. You do get a locker and key in which you can leave your camera if you want, but our hotel told us not to leave super-expensive cameras in the lockers because there is occasional pilfering.

David, Depending on where you plan to take photos, using one of the waterproof Camera's might be useful. I had a look at one yesterday (Panasonic DMC-TS3), but not sure I need that capability, so I'm still thinking about it. Happy travels!

We did not have any problems bringing a camera around in 2008, though that could have changed by now. However since there is no nudity in the main public areas, I don't think that there should be a problem.

Thanks Tom, Mike and Michael. I was hoping to be able to photograph the scene so your answers help with our plans.

Shooting the "scene" and the buildings - fine. But as someone who has used those baths and prefers NOT to have their photo taken, I trust you won't be taking close-ups of people without asking

I took a bunch of photos with my iPhone when I was there last fall. As far as storage, I just quickly ran to the dressing rooms when I was done getting my snapshots and put the phone away.

Anna and Ken - thanks for your helpful information as well. Kathy don't worry. I won't take your picture. David
