Our family of six will be visiting Turkey for 10 days, and then traveling to Greece for a week - Santorini for four nights, and then Athens for four nights. We plan to take the ferry from Kusadasi to Samos on June 19, and then fly from Samos to Santorini on Aegean Air. I can see that the ferry arrives on Samos at 10:30 am. Will we have enough time to get transportation from the ferry terminal to the airport to make a 12:55 pm flight? The next flight isn't until 5:40 pm, and we'd love to make the earlier flight, if possible. Is this doable? Also, should I purchase our ferry tickets ahead of time online, too? Thank you.
The Kusadasil>Samos ferry takes about 1.5 hours. This is cutting it too close, since those ferries don't always leave on time and when you arrive you'll have to go through Passport Control. Once you're there you'll have to find a taxi to take you to the airport. You'd be better off booking the later flight, but if you decide to risk it booking your ferry tickets ahead would be a good idea, as would booking a transfer service from the port to the airport so someone is there to meet you when you first arrive.
Samos Airport is only 15-20 minutes driving distance from Samos Port (Vathi) and you can catch a cab upon your arrival. You can book online your Kusadasi Samos ferry ticket just incase.
Mykonos is also one of the hightlight of Greece and If you wish ferry connection instead fly connections then you need to stay one night in Smaos. Samos (Karlovasi) - Mykonos ferries are running in June and it is available on June 20th. Ferry leaves at 16:55 and arrive 20:30pm. (Karlovasi Port is 30-40 minutes driving distance from Vathi)
There are daily ferries from Mykonos to Santorini and Santorini to Athens.
Enjoy your stay in Turkey and Greece
