Turkey to Greece via Greek Islands

I am traveling to Turkey in a few weeks and would like to know how and where to catch a ferry to perhaps two of the Greek Islands and to end up in Greece. Any advice on how this can be arranged?

I know Pireus is a big port. I took the ferry from Athens to Crete.

It can be done fairly easy. Just go to any of the travel agencies and they will have the schedule for some of the ferries. Or use the Port authority for the schedules of all the ferries. What you are doing is frequently done/

Last October we were in Turkey, too. We took ferry from Kusadasi to Samos. In Turkey nobody knew the whole schedule, just to Samos. There right across the street from ferry terminal is travel agency where we got our tickets to other Greek Islands: Myconos and Santorini. I tried to find the whole schedule on Internet ahead but was not successful. From Santorini we took ferry to Pireus. With some stops about 10 hours.

Hi,
This is Gokhan from Turkey/ izmir. (near Kusadasi)
It is 1 hour flight between Istanbul and izmir ~40-50€, and izmir-kusadasi is 45 minutes by bus. But you may prefer to go by bus directly from Istanbul to Kusadasi. I recommend you to select Varan travel Company. direct drive to Kusadasi ~8-9 hours~15€. Ofcourse you can select to hire a car and arrange a route through Canakkale, Assos, behramkale, Troya , izmir...
Regrads,
Gokhan

Yes, we did exactly what Gokham suggests (by air) and it was a piece of cake. We had a car in Kusadaci (Ephesus) and dropped it at the airport on our way to Istanbul. - we did the trip in reverse and came in through Samos.

Joanne, how long do u have for 2 isles and where do u need to end up "in Greece"? Athens? If so #1 is easy; 45 mins Kud to Samos. Great Island, not over-touristed except in Pythagoras town... I like Vathy -- try Hotel Pythagoras there (google it) right on bay; little beach below yr balcony.

2 isle; if check ferrysite gtp.gr. shows 2 choices: MYKONOS - ferries/wk famous but VERY expensive & crowded in hi season. many sailings onward to Rafina or Piraeus.

CHIOS! - if 3 sailings/wk from samos r on right days for you. A BRILLIANT island, untouristy, "mastic towns" & fab beaches. What's more, there are ferries every night that arrive PIraeus next AM. You can buy 1 berth in a 4-berth female cabin for about 50E and travel while u sleep. Hellenic ship NISSOS =new, NEL ship Theofilos, next best, NEL Mytilini, older boat.

I meant to say 4 sailings per week to Mykonos. If u have been in turkey u will et sticker shock in Mykonos for lodging prices in july or August... that's why I suggested Chios And Chios is UNIQUE, with its mastic towns... a stunning deserted monastery famed in history... rent a car 1 day to tour isle. Good beach to stay at just north of port town is Karfas, brilliant place to stay rite on beach is Sideratos apts. Friends stayed there last month raved & raved... they got place for 40E in May--- maybe 70 in August; google them.
