I am going on a 13 day tour of Turkey in December. I would love to buy souvenirs. What do you recommend?

Well, you will of course be visiting a rug shop, probably a pottery place, and maybe a glass factory, as these seem to be included on every tour, even a day trip! They are actually pretty fun though, especially learning how the rugs are made.
They are all nice souvenirs, but do make sure it is actually made in Turkey as many of the rugs are imported from other places.
I bought a small rug that was a "village" rug, made by girls for their dowry. It is beautiful, natural dies, and was fairly inexpensive. Plan on spending at least $100 for a small rug, and several thousand for a large one.

you may be there already, but we brought back cay/tea glasses, plates and spoons. we didn't have the money for a carpet. another budget idea would be turkish bath linens, or ceramic tiles.
