Hi All,
I am applying for a grant to tour Turkey in summer 2009. I have plans to do a horse trek in the Cappadocia region, then see the ruins at Gobekli Tepe in Urfa, then back to Istanbul for museums etc.
Any thoughts or suggestions as to what to see in Turkey? Favorites? Place to go? Places to stay? Though I know Turkey is large, I have free rein to go just about anywhere, so any suggestion is fair game.
Has anyone been to Urfa? Places to stay?
Also, I am interested in taking a multi-day art class for one of the traditional Turkish arts (ceramics, weaving, calligraphy), any ideas?
