Trogir, Croatia

Has anyone ever taken the bus from Split to Trogir? Since I've already toured Split in the past I thought it might be fun this time to take part of the day to spend in Trogir but not if it is too time consuming. I like Split and don't mind just hanging out there. I guess I want to do both. Is it worth it?

We took the bus to Trogir and spent one night there before our flight home. We really liked Trogir! It's about a 40- minute bus ride.

Sharon, thanks! I read that the long distance buses get there in 20 minutes. Do you recall if you took the long distance bus or the local bus #37? Just curious. 40 min. each way might take up too much of our day on a day-trip.

I don't remember the bus for sure Katherine but it was probably the local #37. The express bus sounds like a better option!

Yeah, it's rather tricky. I read that there are umpteen different bus companies departing from Split's main bus station and any one of them that is headed north, like to Zagreb, for instance, will make its first stop in Trogir. The ticket cost is the same so these are good things to know. Thanks!

I am currently in Croatia and just went to Trogir two days ago. You will need to find the local bus station, so get good directions before starting out. I took the #37 bus to Trogir, and cost 20 kuna each way. It is not the most comfortable bus, and will run 50-60 minutes in each direction.

Trogir is definitely worth it. I think Split is better for nightlife, but Trogir has great atmosphere - I'd actually opt to stay in Trogir with a day trip to Split unless it's the nightlife you are looking for. We went straight to Trogir from the airport (20 minutes??) - I think it's the same local bus from Split.
