What is the best way to travel from Athens to Ephesus for a short visit and back? We arrive at 1:25 pm on June 4th and leave at 8:35 am on the 7th. We would have the 5th and 6th to complete the journey. Are there ferries that connect with busses, etc?

Fly from Athens direct to Samos. There are daytrip excursions (bus and ferry combination) that will take you to Ephesus and back to Samos. Fly back to Athens afterwards. Check the Olympic Air and Aegean Airlines websites for flights. Contact a travel agency for assistance booking the excursion. Take a look at the Fantasy Travel and Dolphin-Hellas Travel websites, both in Athens and both experienced with this booking.
