Traveling w/ vitamins

I take multiple supplements and want to pack in a daily dose container, instead of the original (takes too much space). anyone know if this will be a problem?

We must take lots of meds with us when we travel - some with the original labels, some not. No one has ever even looked at them.

I was traveling with my two sons and husband, we had just arrived in Tenerife by ferry from Morocco. I had the Costco Vitamin packs in my overnight bag and the custom agent felt he had made a drug bust. They took me into the back room where I stood for almost two hours, several agents asked why I didn't have a prescription and why I had so many. They finally just let me go, however our car rental place had closed by then. We made the most of it by taking an unscheduled
trip to Marbella by taxi and picked up our rental car the next day. This was in 2002. I realize this was rare but to be safe I'd at least have the labels and any prescription info.

Never had a problem overseas or here. Use a daily pill holder and the baggie. Probably depends on where exactly you are going.

Well, my husband was studying in Germany and when I went to meet him for our four week vacation I brought four one week daily pill containers filled with his usually vitamin, prescription meds. All confiscated (somewhere in transit). So my advice is if you want to be sure, pack sealed bottles of vitamins and sort it out upon arrival. Prescription meds should always be transported in original prescription vials/bottles and in your carry-on. As someone who was in Paris on 9/11 (who'd have thought that would happen before hand) those original containers allowed me to get extensions of my meds until I could return to the U.S. without a Dr. visit (special waiver due to, ah, extreme and unforeseeable circumstances...no kidding).

Thanks Everyone. We just got back from Prague, Vienna, and Salzburg. Recommend them all. Anyways, I did take a seven day pill organizer with vitamins and had no problems. Thanks for eveyone's responses.

I just returned from 3 weeks'travel, which involved airports in Nashville, Chicago (Midway and O'Hare), Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, and Vienna. I also travelled by train, using stations in Vienna, Salzburg, and Budapest. I carried a few zip loc type bags that contained vitamin supplements, aspirin, and fiber capsules. I had no interference from anybody and nobody asked me about any of what I was carrying. Of course, my prescription medicine was in the original containers.

Shelly, I have made 9 trips to GReece since 1999, taking each time in my checked bag two 1-week pill boxes w daily doses, and a bag for 2 more weeks of refills (Plus my cholesterol & BP pills jammed into 1 RX bottle. NEVER had it questioned. I think it would be helpful if you would share where you are going, i.e., france, UK, italy etc. The scarey stories all seem to come from Africa, near east etc. Please come back to forum and say WHERE. in main European countries, no sweat.
