Travel tin Turkey

My adult daughter and I want to travel in Turkey--Istanbul and the western historical sites. (Steve's tours don't quite fit what we want to do.) I want some help but not a locked in tour. Any suggestions as to travel agents?

If you don't need a locked-in tour, and since you won't be traveling within Turkey that much, you can wait to contact a travel agent till you are in Istanbul. There are a number of very good agencies with English-speaking agents on the Divan Yolu in the Sultanahmet area of Istanbul (where I assume you will be staying) or in the Beyoglu district.

Tur-ista is a good one that I can vouch for on the Divan Yolu, for arranging transport and day guides. However, do not use them (or any other travel agency) for hotel reservations. You can get them much cheaper by booking yourself online.

For flights within Turkey, I used Barefoot travel (contact Cengiz). However, Turkish Airlines, Pegasus, and Atlas all have relatively cheap flights within the country if you need to fly.

hi
I am Gy from izmir Turkey,
It depends how much time you are planning to spent in which city and reagion for what,, and what about your total days?
Reginal tours are always cheeper& better than the ones fixed in Istanbul ... you cant be flexsible too much.
You can also arrage your daily plans in 1-2 days advance upon your last decision too. Turkey is better than Europe on that.
If you have specific targets/cities and type/kind of places especially focused I may give futher information,
or ask for any kind of question if you have,
Wellcomes to Turkey
Regards
