Overview: Have done my research. Have done organized tours in the past (but not this area). Will be meeting up with a River Cruise - Vienna to Amsterdam. Know German. Starting trip in Dresden and have 15 days to arrive in Vienna. May of 2013. Goal: Want to travel like a local - coffee & struedel in the morning - wander the streets - leisurely lunch, etc. light sightseeing. But I feel like a kid in a candy store - so many options. Could zig-zag all the way to Bayreuth to Salzburg (a music lover). Hallstatt or more direct thru Prague and down, more practical. Suggestions for a meaningful route. Will be taking train or bus. Oh, and my tvl buddy and I are past 60 - so no mtn climbing please. :-)
