As part of a driving tour including Riga, Vilnius, Klapeda we wanted to go to the Spit area and than onto Gdansk area. Anyone have information about driving thru this area? We know we have to get Russian visas. Is Gdansk and the Tri-City area worth going into Russia?
Other route suggestions? We are planning on going into Poland to Krakow and Warsaw. Thanks

Fran, we enjoyed visiting Gdansk and nearby Torun and Malbork Castle. If your schedule allows, I'd recommend including these in your trip. I notice you said you are driving in Riga, etc. Cities in Poland are easily reached by train. If possible, consider adding Wroclaw to your itinerary. Feel free to write if you have questions.
