Travel between Italy, Greece, and Croatia

I am trying to plan ahead for next summer to see how much it would cost and how long I would need to travel around the Mediterranean. I have a month (4 weeks) and wanted to get in Spain, France, Italy, Croatia and Greece. I have traveled around Europe before but never to Croatia and Greece. I was wondering if anyone had suggestions or into on how to get from either Rome or Venice to Dubrovnik in Croatia or Greece. I am not sure if I should just be looking for a cheap flight or or trains/boats alone would work. If you have any tips on traveling around these places, let me know! Thanks!

I flew Aegean Airlines from Rome to Athens. It didn't take that long and was 50 euros for me. When I booked, you could either get a really early flight or very late flight. It was very easy and better than spending a long time on a ferry in my opinion.
