Transport between Istanbul's two airports

There seems to be a plethora of options of how to get from Istanbul's Sabiha Gokcen airport on the Asia side to Ataturk on the Europe side - all with their pros and cons. The web site, Turkey Travel Planner, which RS cites in his book, is great about explaining the options, but strongly recommends the service offered by Backpackers Travel. I need to get from SAW midday on a Saturday to a hotel near Ataturk. I'm willing to use the Havas bus or all public transporation (bus, ferry, tram, metro), but the latter may be challenging while hauling luggage. Any advice from those who have made this cross-town trek? Thanks. Chris

If you're concerned about luggage, why don't you just hire a cab? Cabs are easy to find, and should be able to tell you upfront what the cost is to get to Ataturk. Or just use the Backpacker's Travel service - it sounds like a pretty good deal. If you're concerned about cost, then just use the public transport options and pack light. Istanbul can be somewhat chaotic to get around in even on a good day until you've been there a few days and can get oriented. I flew into Ataturk and I didn't even want to mess with that relatively easy transport, so I had my hotel pick me up.
