Does anyone know of the best way to go from Dubrovnik, Croatia to Athens, Greece and from Athens to Istanbul, Turkey?

Well, "best" is relative. Obviously, flying is the quickest, but most expensive. You can take a ferry from Dubrovnik to Bari (Italy) and from there to Athens, and then onward to Istanbul.

You could use buses as well, going through Montenegro and Albania.

The train is another option, bus from Dubrovnik to Mostar (Bosnia), then train to Sarajevo-Belgrade-Athens. There is no train from Athens to Istanbul, that I know of. Even if there were, a ferry would be a better and quicker option.

Hope that helps.

Do some research as I don't believe the train is the best option between Sarajevo and Belgrade. I think you may be better off taking the bus - leaves at 6 am and arrives in Belgrade at 1 pm.
